You haunt my dreams,
continuously.
Whenever I get close enough to touch you,
to touch your face,

and fade into the backdrop of a white morning.
The waves are crashing upon the shore,
and the reverberating sound is pounding against my ears,
in sync to the drone of my beating heart.
I cry silver tears,
until you come once more.
But the hands of time only rewind.
I hold my arms out,
eager and anticipating your next move.
But you step away,
and the nightmare never stops.
If only you could take one step closer,
instead of backwards,
kiss me hard,
and never let me go.
Then maybe I'd be able to sleep peacefully once again,
to the sound of your voice while laying in your arms.
